Ad Sense

I apologize for any crude ads on this site. I am in the process of learning how to customize them and choose the ones I want to appear only, but I have not quite figured it out yet.

Consequently, because I used a bad word last week, GOOGLE AD SENSE has intelligently decided I should have an ad for condoms on my site! Oh the horror!

Hope it gives you a laugh. Until then, forgive me.

Swimmers Itch!

I apologize for not posting lately. Apparently I have acquired "swimmers poisoning" from a pond I stepped in to pull my adventurous son out of the mud. (I have no idea where he gets it.) He swam in the pool all day and only developed a mild itch that resolved in two days. I stupidly wore my shoes (cork bottomed) all day and did not get any chlorine on me from the pool. (Oh how I wish I would have said yes to swimming with him that day.)

I have been to two doctors appointments, tried creams, hot baths, alcohol (both pouring it onto the open wounds on my legs & drinking more of it than usual). Nothing works. My joints are all burning and I think I am about to peel my own skin off.

Doc prescribed some prednazone and I think it is helping the joints a bit. Anyway, I do have more to say, about politics, economics and parenting this week. (The itch has robbed me temporarily of ANY inner peace.) But whatever there is to say will have to wait as life happens.

Have a good week!

The Market & Hiatus

I got killed in the market today. Oh well, still short. I am short oil too. Just a bad day. The near term trend is still down. Anyway, I am in a bit of a hurry today because I am leaving for my annual "Mom's" weekend at the cabin tomorrow. Lot's of Mom stuff to do around here. Soooo......

I will be on blogger hiatus for a few days.

Hey, by the way....unknown person from Mounds View High School who posted a comment to get my email address for the 20 yr reunion - name yourself in your next email, post, or comment please so I can know who I am dealing with! Not that it matters......but it would be nice to know.

Thanks - have a great weekend!

Anti-Life

How can we watch this without helping? The Iranian government is anti-life. Since I don't want to put profanity on my blog........ on second thought.......those MF, pieces of S. This is how much they hate women. Enough to shoot young, free, beautiful ones down in cold blood.

I am so sorry for that poor woman and her family. Every prayer I say today will be in support of those brave young Iranians who would rather die then be enslaved by an evil dictator. God bless you for having the courage to stand up to the men who would like to bring about the second holocaust.

Check out these pics from Iran. Notice the sign in the background in photo number 1 that reads: OBAMA STEP UP!

So, do you think these protesters feel supported by the U.S.?

Mr. President: Even if military action is off the table YOU NEED TO OFFER MORE MORAL SUPPORT TO THESE FREEDOM FIGHTERS. These are the men and women who are going to help take their religion back and end extremism around the globe!

You need to call Peggy Noonan and BEG her to write you a Reagan-like speech. (I know this is about as likely as seeing pigs fly)

STEP UP!

Father's Day

I want to say thank you to all the men who are good father's in my life.

My husband is such a great father to his children. I really appreciate that.

To my father:

Dad,

I love you. For all of the good and bad things that have happened over the course of your life and mine, I have always felt love.

You have no idea how important this is to a girl, a woman.

It gives her the base to build the rest of her life on. It gives her the strength to stand up to the world, when that is not the easy thing to do.

I know we have not always had a perfect relationship. I have sometimes felt like you expected too much of me.

But now, I see that it taught me to dig for the best in myself. Whatever your intention, it brought out the best in me.

I am not afraid of much. Though I still know that if I am afraid I can call on you.

I respect what you have been through in life and how you have been able to live through it with grace and dignity.

I respect how you have grown. I appreciate how you have let me grow. Sometimes with judgement, sometimes without......but always with love.

I love you Dad. You are a great Grandpa too.

THANK YOU. HAPPY FATHER'S DAY!

Love,

Me
