What Is Obama's Position On Iran?

I just found an article on CNN.com where Obama says it would be wrong of him not to say anything about the events of the past few days. He is worried that if the U.S. gets involved the conflict will become about the U.S.

Funny though, even though he says he would be wrong of him not to say anything, he doesn't say much. He says he is troubled by the violence against peaceful demonstrators, as all Americans should be. TROUBLED? What a colossal UNDERREACTION.

Is he underreacting to save face or to avoid inflaming an already volatile situation?

Who knows - I still say those Iranians who support democracy and would overthrow their TYRANNICAL government deserve nothing less than our FULL MORAL SUPPORT! TROUBLED, Huh!

Obama and Iran

Hear is where Obama bugs me: He knows that the Ahmadinejad government is corrupt. He knows it oppresses women, minorities, gays, etc. He must know Ahmadinejad is a nut job. However, he says nothing.

I think the U.S. should promote freedom and equality around the globe. Should we do this with guns? Not necessarily. We should avoid using force unless our national security is directly threatened. But Obama isn't even using words because the Iranian people are showing him up. He wants to negotiate with a crazy Ahmadinejad (sad I can type his name quickly now) so that he can look like a hero and prove the Bush administration wrong to isolate Iran. This is the problem when ambition and the need to be admired and recognized (unhealthy levels of narcissistic behavior) combine in a man. His values start to come second. His need for power and admiration begin to trump his belief in democracy and freedom.

Now for sure, I do not know Obama personally. He may not exhibit these behaviors in his personal life at all. But so far I have seen much of them in his public behavior. Yes, we all exhibit narcissistic behavior at times. A certain level of narcissism is healthy. However, I sometimes think Obama has a bad case of NPD. (narcissistic personality disorder)
I am concerned it may be affecting his judgement about foreign policy.

I know this will seem off point, but stay with me for a minute:

I love money. I love learning about it. I love how it looks and feels. I like making it. But money does not come first. I agree with Suze Orman: people first, then money. I have done my best to put this in to practice in my life.

Mr. President: I know it must be very exciting and overwhelming to have the potential to unite the Christian and Muslim worlds and look like a hero. But this image of yourself is just an idol. Supporting freedom and equality around the world comes first, saving face and looking cool come second. STAND UP FOR THE BRAVE PEOPLE OF IRAN. SUPPORT THEM NOT WITH YOUR GUNS, BUT WITH YOUR WORDS. DO IT NOW! Put yourself, success, power and image second this time.

My Husband

Marriage. What is it for? It pushes us to heal the hidden parts of our Selves. Is it always easy? No. I think that many times in a desperate attempt to escape from inner pain we find fault in our spouses. I am not always guilty of this mistake, but sometimes I am.

I prayed this morning to find love within myself so that I would be able to share it with my husband.

I prayed for the clarity to see my husband as he is.

I prayed for the strength to not be so needy.

I found the answer that "Giving and receiving are one, in truth".

I thought of my refrigerator magnet : "Be the change you wish to see in the world." (Ghandi)

I looked inside and asked to see the truth.

This is what I found:

I love my husband VERY much. He is a great and wonderful man.

He is kind. He is smart. He loves me and our children so much that he would jump in front of a moving train for us. He is hot. He is funny. He has made a commitment to search within himself to find answers, just as I have. He is cool. He would do just about anything for me just so I would be more comfortable.

I am a very lucky woman.

Honey, I am sorry I lost sight of the truth, but I did. Thank you for helping me find it.

Iran

I am very surprised. Not at the fact that Ahmadinejad rigged the election, but that so many of the Iranian people don't support him. So many are willing to risk their lives to be heard around the world.

I listened to Ahmadinejad's "acceptance" speech. This guy is a pathological narcissistic maniac. He sounded just like Hitler.

My prayers are with the Iranian people. May they find the strength they need to overthrow that maniac.

Why haven't we heard more from the Pres? Oh, Biden says he doubts the results. Have some balls guys. Have the guts to0 say that the election was a sham and we fully support the Moussavi supporters. If we are not going to give them military support, we should at least offer them moral support.

Maybe Barack's speech worked, maybe it didn't. Too soon to tell.

As I have said before, unless you want to gamble, or have a 15-20 year time horizon, or are a trader, or are REALLY good at analyzing balance sheets and picking individual stocks, stay out of the market for a while longer. Maybe a year, maybe 18 months. When you get back in make sure it is into a well diversified portfolio that is appropriate for your age and situation.

This video illustrates why you shouldn't believe the hype. I may disagree with much of John Stewart's politics, but this clip is great. The truth can be very funny. Just because people on Wall Street act smarter than the rest of us doesn't mean they are.

The How and Why of Work

This economy is having the positive affect of helping people value their work. More and more people are becoming thankful for the jobs and skills they have. This is a good thing. Gratitude breeds peace and destroys the resistance that we all have to hard work from time to time. In addition, people are realizing that social status is not so important.

I hope this will bring us to a new time where quality and innovation will flourish. Where entrepreneurs, not mammoth inefficient bloated corporations (like GM) will have a leg up. This correction in the economy is a huge opportunity, for many things, not just making money.

It is an opportunity to realize it is not the job you have, it is the quality of your consciousness while you are doing that job that matters. This is what creates real value.

Here is a silly little example: My kids love Lee Ann Chins. There are three of them within a relatively short distance from my house. We always go to one now, instead of the other two. Why? Is the food better? No, no, no. It is because the manager there is awesome. He does his job very well. He does his job, not with the resistance of someone telling themselves, "I am just a manager at Lee Ann Chins, this sucks." No, he does his job with the attitude, "This is my job. This is where I am right now. I am going to do well. This is going to be the best freaking Lee Ann Chins in town. We are going to have the best service possible." He is friendly, efficient, kind, remembers his customers (not just us,a bunch of them), and brings an energy to his work that infuses it with quality. I have no doubt the universe will reward this guy. He will do well at whatever he does.

So whatever you are doing, enjoy it. Do your best, as trite as that sounds. Even if it is laundry, picking up dog sh__, mowing lawns, etc. It doesn't matter what you do, it's how you do it that changes the world.

And the WHY? Well, just because. What's the alternative?
