Luck,Destiny, Free Will & Haiti

How lucky I am. How blessed. I have been watching the hopeforhaitinow.org benefit.

I did donate. I also am struck by just how damn lucky we Americans are. We are a free, prosperous, fortunate people. Every single one of us. Even the poor in America live better than most of the globe.

Another voice in my head tells me that while luck is a very big part of my fortune in this life, hard work by my parents was another.

You know, I am brought back to the dualistic nature of the Universe and our place in it time and time again.

On one hand, we are birthed into a particular life situation. Some of us win the lottery of birth and are born in the U.S. Others parents work their butts off to make sure their children are born in the U.S. Is it destiny? Is it luck? Is it evolution? Is it determination? Or is it all of them combined?

Many humans are birthed into a favorable life situation and screw it up. Some are born to fortune and succumb to tragedy. Certainly, natural disasters care not about your country of birth, your race, your religious beliefs or anything of the sort. When Nature strikes, it is abrupt, random, and often brutal.

So on one level, we humans control our reality. What we send out comes back to us. Giving and receiving are one, in truth. But, on the physical level, we are all VERY vulnerable and ultimately face death around every corner. We are fragile. Life is fragile, and the spector of Death constantly reminds us of that.

What is left? What really matters? Love. The energy of Love. That is all that matters. In the present moment touch as many people with the energy of Love as you can. THAT IS ALL YOU CAN DO. AND IT MATTERS.... ALOT.

To anyone who reads this...I wish for you that you will always live in the energy of love. I hope that energy will descend upon HAITI and bring its people some comfort.
